Tour day

Filed under: Cambodia, photos — dugsworld @ 1:46 am

Today we hired a driver and a guide to take us through the temples. It was most of the same temples we had been to the outside on our bikes but 1) we didn”t want to leave our bikes (Ron”s was worth about 20 * the average yearly income). 2) we wanted someone who could tell us about what we were looking at. It”s hard to describe everything we saw and heard but this was a really cool day. My favorite temple was the one some call the jungle temple. It”s the one they filmed Tomb Raiders in (That”s not why I liked it in case you were wondering). It”s a big temple that they are not restoring. They want to leave this one as is so people can see what they were like before the outside world started fixing them up. It was really cool. The pictures really do not do it justice. As I walked around, I half expected for Tarzan to come swinging out and have a fight with the :( |) king of the apes. I know I”ve mixed up all kinds of stories and geographical locations, but that is the kind of feeling I got walking around. After our tour we took 2 Japanese girls down town to the bars. They wanted to go but the tour guild had all the Japanese terrified to go down town. I guess the girls felt safe enough to go to the bars if they were with us. Interested concept of safety hu?
