Day 8 [75 km] Believe it or not we actually left Hiroshima. I was starting to wonder if that would ever happen. I figured we have had 3 fantastic fun filled days in Hiroshima, it was time to move on. (more…)

Japan Bike Trip Day 7
Day 7 [0 km Rain day ] Pretty much hung out around Hiroshima during the day. We found a hamburger restaurant called {in Japanese} �SDonkey Surprise� for dinner. We were both hoping the surprise was not that they were serving donkey burger 
After diner was about the same as every other night here in Hiroshima. I had a great time. Lot�”s of fun and lot�”s of new people along with the others we�”ve met from nights before. Again did not get home until around 4-5am.

Japan Bike Trip Day 3
Day 3 [91+ km maybe on about 4-600 meter climb] All in all a great day (except for the weather). The hotel we stayed at was only about 2oo meters from the entrance to the tunnel across to the main island. The entrance was a bit of a surprise. We expected a hole in the dirt you drive through (like most tunnels I�”ve ridden through). Not this on. It turns out the tunnel is only for walkers and bikers. The entrance was an elevator. The tunnel was pretty cool. It was another cold day complete with snow :snow: , sleet :icy: , hale and a bit of rain :lrain: . I was starting to expect frogs or locust next =:) (more…)

Japan Bike Trip, Day 1
Started my day at about 5am. Headed to the office to pick up my bike and then down stairs to meet the bus. Finally got to Fukuoka by about 3pm. We but our bikes together at the airport then headed out to find the first hotel. It was a rough start. The hotel was suppose to be only about 1k away but we could not figure out which way to go. The map suggested one way. The GPS on my phone suggested a different way. The GPS on Ron�”s phone would not give us a direction but just show us the map around the hotel. And my �SGood� GPS showed yet another way. We finally just took a wild guess and it happened to be correct. On our way to find the Hotel we passed a shrine. We figured after finding the hotel we would work our way back here. (more…)
