Filed under: Cambodia — dugsworld @ 4:47 pm

8-} Back from Cambodia and Tailand! Started at 4am but I’m finally home. It’s now 4:30 pm with a 2 hour time change so I’ve been traveling for about 14 hours. I’m a bit tired now but :d WOW :d what a great time. I should unpack but I think I’ll just order a pizza and veg out. Now that this trip is over I’ll have more time to finish the entries for the Japanese Bike trip, This trip, and all the place holders for the photos.

Goodby to Cambodia.

Filed under: Cambodia — dugsworld @ 12:45 am

First thing in the morning we piled back into a van which took us to the airport. Back in Bangkok. I think I”ve spent enough time in Bangkok so I decided to spend the weekend. There is some resort area about 2 hour drive so I planned on spending the weekend at the beach. I hope I can find a place to stay! (more…)

Coolest ride yet!

Filed under: Cambodia, photos — dugsworld @ 10:59 pm

We started the day at 6am. The sun was not up yet but it was light out. We were headed out on what the book described as SA ride for the more adventurous. It started out on a nice wide road. Quickly went down to a narrow road, then gravel, then dirt, then dust, then it got rough! (more…)

Down Day

Filed under: Cambodia — dugsworld @ 10:24 pm

Today was a down day for me. Great day but did not do much. Hung out at the pool. Rode my bike a bit around down town. |-) Sometimes I forget how nice it can be to just do nothing. |-)

Holly Cow, Day!!!

Filed under: Cambodia, photos — dugsworld @ 11:31 pm

This was by far the hardest day on a bike I”ve ever had. #:-s Even harder than the 100k 1300m climb day in Japan. As a mater of fact I think this may have been the most strenuous day ever. At one point I was thinking to just pay someone to carry me home! (more…)

Inside the Temples

Filed under: Cambodia, photos — dugsworld @ 9:51 pm

Today we rented a driver and a guide for the day. We went into the temples that we rode past yesterday. We saw all the major temples, some under restoration and others just like they were before any of the restoration started. I even saw the doorway that was used on Tomb Raiders II. I can”t wait to see my pictures on a screen bigger than the one on my camera!

Basic Cambodia

Filed under: Cambodia, photos — dugsworld @ 11:10 pm

It was a very surreal @-) experience riding my bike through the jungle and all of a sudden an temple from the 6th century emerges out from seemingly nowhere. (more…)

off to Sam Reap and Temples

Filed under: Cambodia, photos — dugsworld @ 9:49 pm

Today was much more enjoyable. We rented a van to take us and the bikes to Sam Reap. The ride was about 5 hours long but it was interesting getting into the country side. Once we got to Sam Reap we had lunch and then went for a bike ride around the temples of Angkor. Other than nice roads it was like stepping back in time. F.Y.I. This is where they filmed part of Tomb raiders II.
