We went to a cool place for diner tonight. We went with one of the Italian guys and their guide. It was a bit odd. Ron was real popular. It was a place with a live band. After eating, some of the guys in the audience went up to dance. After a few songs they started to try to get Ron up with them. After a while we all went up to dance. The place went wild. They got a real kick out of us dancing. I even saw 2 of the guys in the band laughing at me. We did stick out a bit!! It was a lot of fun. (more…)

Day 12
Day 12 We are heading back to Namche, the same place we we spent nights 4 & 5. It’s the first time I feel like I’m heading home. I can’t wait for the Thai massage!!!! I felt very good/ strong for the first half of the day but then we came to the stairs. Stairs really slows me down. Since my right knee really hurts going up or down stairs. I only use my left leg except for the smallest of stairs. Then we stopped for lunch. It was an amazing place on the trail 2/3rds of the way up a cliff overlooking the valley. (more…)

day 11 Heading home. Ron headed to base camp, I was not involved in the planning but I guess they planned a meeting place and a back up meeting place. So Tashi and I headed down slowly expecting Ron to catch up pretty quickly. Well we waited at the first spot and no Ron. We waited for about 3 hours or so. (more…)

Day 8 – Altitude day.
Day 8 – Altitude day. Someone this morning was telling us that a week ago some girl was carried down by her Sherpa guide at 2 am from the town I’m in as I write this entry. She had altitude sickness. It turns out she died a few days later. I don’t know if it’s true or just trekking lure, but it does make you think. (more…)

Day 7 Today we went from Tengboche to Dingboche. That was about a 11Km hike with a total climb of about 700m. I could just not get into the grove today. I had more trouble with altitude today. (more…)
