What is your Favorite?

Filed under: Uncategorized — dugsworld @ 1:28 pm

A Psychological Test / Game – Associated Content

I added question 3 from memory.

Question #1 – What is your favorite animal? Now write down three adjectives describing your favorite animal.

Question #2 – What is your favorite color? Now write down three adjectives describing your favorite color.

Question #3 – You see a vase? Now write down three adjectives describing that vase.

Question #4 – What is your favorite body
of water? (This can be anything from a toilet to the ocean), (i.e.:
lake, river, pool, etc.). Now write down three adjectives describing
your favorite body of water.

Question number five is a bit detailed, so read it very carefully and feel it as you read.

You
are sitting in a chair inside a room, facing a window. Outside the
window you are looking at the most beautiful, peaceful, relaxing
scenery you could ever imagine. Because of the view you are enjoying,
you feel at complete and utter peace within yourself. Suddenly, without
any warning, someone comes up to the window and pulls the shades! There
is nothing at all you can do about it.

Question #5 – What are your three emotions in the order that you feel them? Be sure and write them down.

It snowed over night. Things look really pretty out side with the snow and all the Christmas lights. Good bye dinner for Shu-Hua. Shu-Hua is leaving tomorrow morning so a few of us get together for dinner.

I spent the morning at work catching up on personal stuff, then we went to Genesh’s place for movie night. We picked up some beer, ordered some pizza, and watched “A Beautiful Mind” and “Nightmare Before Christmas”. It was nice just hanging out. We are becoming close enough friends to tease each other about stuff. Genesh even calls me Dud now. Genesh reserves this title for his close friends. I know it’s funny but I actually do feel honored.

Today’s meeting is a summary of the week.
To give you an idea of what it is like to be in a Japanese meeting I’ll dictate what I hear them say. Each character is a Japanese word I don’t understand.

That was about 15 min of the meeting. You get the idea. By the way, Mark asked me to elbow him when ever he talked, so he would talk less. Boy he stinks at not talking!

Friday night we had a going away party for Shu-Hua. A large group of people showed up and we had a great time. In Japan some restaurants have a thing where you can drink all you want for 2 hours for one fixed price.
Boy that’s a bad idea!!!!
But a lot of fun. We were all drinking eating and generally goofing off. One of the guys brought a book full of “NOT SO NICE” Japanese phrases. Funny how the bad words are so much easier to learn than the nice words. Well as it got time to go we had a few full bottles of Sake left so I poured everyone a full shot glass. I handed the bottle down to the end of the table for them to fill their own. When they handed the bottle back everyone was toasting so someone told me to just drink out of the bottle. I thought this was the same bottle I started to pour with, WRONG!!!. It was a mostly full bottle. That was the biggest shot of sake I’ve ever seen.
By the time we actually finished up and got up to go, I was feeling the effects. I picked up my shoes and went out to the front of the restaurant. As people started to filter out I heard from inside that someone stole Gorge’s shoes. I didn’t think anything about it other than it was funny. George came out and asked if anyone had his shoes. I looked down at my shoes and said “Who stole my tassels.?” Well by now I’m sure you had figured out what had happened. It’s Tuesday when I’m writing this and people are still laughing at it.

After that we went to Ripponggi and had lots of fun there too.

Well, during today’s meet

Filed under: Uncategorized — dugsworld @ 12:00 am

Well, during today’s meeting I remembered some talking about making up words during an all Japanese meeting. So here is what I heard during this meeting.

First they were talking about the weather. It took about 35 minutes for everyone to give their opinion about the weather. One of the guys seemed to have a very strong opinion about the fact that we should figure out a way to make sure it doesn’t rain during the time when people are coming to work. Another person added that we should do the same for after work. One person quietly suggested that we could not do anything about stopping it from raining but we may be able to build a giant umbrella that we raise from 6am-9am. The same person added We should also open the umbrella from 5pm-7pm. Over all of Japan or just Tokyo. Tokyo should be good enough. I don’t know shy be Mark keeps breaking in our weather conversation with English comments about work. What if we get a hole in the umbrella? Well we can get a cannon to shot a wad of sticky stuff to fill in the hole. (Holding arms in a big circle) What if the hole is too big.? Something very big could hit the umbrella and make a big hole. What color should we make this umbrella? Well about half wanted clear, the other half wanted a blue sky with clouds print. The lady wanted a pretty flower print and another person insisted on pink. (He never said why he just kept saying “I want pink”)
Well the umbrella talk went on for several hours and then someone asked Who is this guy over there? (Everyone looks at me) . You get the idea of how my day went.

During dinner we made fun of Mark. The more he talked the more homework he got, and he just kept on talking and talking. He told me to elbow him every time he talked tomorrow. We’ll se if it helps.

IIIIIIIMMMMMMMM SSSSSSS

IIIIIIIMMMMMMMM SSSSSSSSOOO BBBBOOOORRRRRREEEEEEDDDDDD
I’m in meetings all week with a customer and 3 other companies who are actually doing the work. Mark and I are here as the experts to help identify/reduce the risks in the project. Meetings are pretty slow to begin with add on top of that I can’t understand most of what is said, and when ever I do give some advice the 3 distributors don’t what to listen. I keep wanting to ask “If you don’t want to listen then why are you wasting my time?” Oh well, this has given me a lot of time to catch up on all my journal entries.

During the afternoon break I would pick up a bag of M&M’s. The meeting is so boring I would play games with my M&M’s.

First game. I could only eat an M&M when the min hand was on an even number (every 10 min). If I missed the moment the big hand was on an even number I would have to wait till the next chance. This was not entertaining enough so I was see how long I could keep the M&M on my tongue without eating it. I found out that if you listen carefully while you put a peanut M&M in your mouth without doing anything else about 20% of them you will hear a small crack/pop. It sounds like the shell cracks from the stress. I also found out that an M&M can only last about 5 min before it completely melts down and your left with just the peanut sitting on your tongue. If you keep your mouth dry the M&M can last up to 9 min’s.

In order to keep the M&M dry I had to lean my head back. I know this looks odd so I get a thoughtful look on my face as if I’m deep in thought. While I was doing this I overhead something that I needed to say something about so I swallowed my M&M and spoke up. There was 4 separate conversations going on all at once but the second I saidsomething everyone stopped to hear what I had to say. I don’t know if the were anxiously anticipating what this thoughtful person had to say or surprise that the moron playing with the M&M’s could talk at all. I wonder what everyone at this meeting is thinking if they noticed that I kept looking at my watch and slowly popping M&M’s in my mouth.
